these free resources will help any local small business owner get more customers by being findable on the Internet.  I marketed my own products and services on the internet since 1998 and have decided to help a limited number of local businesses to do the same.

Dale said; “I never intended to become a farrier I was more or less forced to when there were just no farriers available that would come to my farm” After being stood up by a no-show farrier for the third time, he self educated himself for using library books and later attended the Oregon State Farrier School. Dale wants to provide personal owners with this video that will enable them to identify proper hoof care for their own horse or may start trimming their own horses if they choose.

For this video Dale selected three of his horses that were a bit of a challenge, this 1.5 hour hoof trimming video shows the good bad and ugly parts of trimming your own horse. Farrier tools are discussed, as well as many tips and tricks to getting horses trimmed properly.

This video is available in a DVD format that can be played on your television or your computer, the video is also available for immediate download even at 3:30 in the morning. Whether or not you choose to trim your own horse is up to you, but you will find out if your horse is receiving the proper hoof care it deserves.

I have sold horses over the web, people bought them based on pictures on my site and I did send one guy a video of me riding the horse he eventually purchased.  This week a horse trader buddy of mine said she was making money selling stuff on Craigslist.  She buys at storage unit auctions and lists the item, and they turn over quite fast.  She sold $600 worth last weekend only one item was more than $5, boy that is a lot of listings but horse sales are slow like a lot of other things right now so any port in a storm.  Most of us are not being bailed out by congress, so we just work it out using the “free market” system.

To get to the nitty gritty, she asked if I’d help her set up a little website where she could post her little items for sale.  She wants to run this herself, she has a webmaster for her horse site, but wants to be able to add and delete items herself.  I gave it some thought and bought a generic domain name for her.  I set up a wordpress blog for her and next week we will get together for training, hmmmm…  do you suppose that other small business owners might need to know the same thing?

I decided to take one of my horse sites and convert it into a blog, as it really needs updating in the worst way, yes I forget to update after I sell a horse sometimes and then there is the embarrassment of discovering that one of my 5 year old horses still has a baby picture on their page.  I am still converting the site but am pretty happy with the way I am able to categorize the horses in a natural way that prospective buyer will intuitively follow.   Take a look at my horses .

All I Need

Boy what happened to all that other stuff?  I did not need it for my purposes, let me explain:

• My Name is important because I do want to them to know who to talk to.
• My phone number because they just might call, note I did not give area code as most of my business is local.
• My website address gives them a clue as to what I do, and if they are from out of town, they can find my area code there.

Now I need to make sure everything important I want them to know about me is above the fold on my website.  Okay so I had to go do some of it but at least for my business, I need that personal touch, if you are into selling hemorrhoid creme, better to maybe not do this.  Well here is what I did.

It gets a little harder to screw-down my courage when I breakout my colts, that ground comes up mighty fast and hard.  I have modified my horse training methods as I get older and more brittle.  I want to post some of my work here as some of it is pretty cool if I do say so myself.

You might notice I go this video up a little faster than the last one as I do learn from my mistakes, I’ll post some of my gained insights later, maybe will help some of you.  I know I could have used a little help at times today.

Now I know this is not much to show for an all afternoon project however; think it as just something I had to get through.  I bought this JVC 30GB Hard Disk Camcorder last year so I could record my horses being trained and show them off to prospective buyers.  That was the plan, this camcorder makes a video file with .MOD extension, it is the same they say as a .MOV but none of my software worked with the extension so more software to buy, I got Studio 11 from Pinnacle Software it works pretty good but I could not stand success.

I got some new software and blew about three hours today trying to get it to work, no go.  I won’t name names right now since it quite possibly is the dreaded “operator error”.  Well back to Studio 11 and I got the little video produced in a couple of formats and I realize I no longer have the foggiest idea how to get it to show up in my post here so therefore the link you see will have to do for now.

Update here: I put it up on Youtube and got the video to show up here, earlier I had trouble getting the video to upload properly but what do you know, I finally got it done.

Youtube videos are not very good quality, I’ll have to work on displaying a higher quality video, but for now I have a start and that was what I wanted.  Most people have a need to know it all before they start, that includes me, I want all the traffic lights green before I start to town.  Of course that never happens so I’ll never make it to town or anywhere else if I wait, as they say Just Do It.
